According to the Health and Safety Executive, improved health and safety can lead to better productivity in the workplace.

Under the UK Employment Act, businesses have to set out in writing to their staff, their disciplinary and dismissal rules and their grievance procedures.

A 2006 HSE report found that up to 600,000 people were injured or became ill because of work last year, costing employers approx £1,200 each time.
